Lead cable borer—Scobicia declivis
Adult borers are black or brown beetles, about 0.25 inch long.
Damage
Feeding on plants by lead cable borers causes dieback of occasional twigs. Tunnels in twigs or branches, often
at the crotch, may be seen.
Solutions
Prune out affected plant parts. Eliminate nearby dead wood in which beetles breed.
