How to Manage Pests

Pests in Gardens and Landscapes

Lack of sweet flavor

Fruit that lacks sweet flavor may have a bitter taste. The rind color does not indicate sweetness.

Solutions

Fruit may often be picked too early, not giving the fruit enough time to develop full flavor. Leave fruit on trees until it is fully mature and develops full color.
