Phomopsis canker
Bark and wood affected by phomopsis canker develop localized dead areas near pruning wounds or other
injuries. Branches eventually become girdled and leaves wither.
Solutions
Phomopsis canker is caused by a fungus that survives in cankers in trees or dead wood in surrounding
areas. Prune late in the dormant season. Remove and burn diseased branches. Some varieties may be more
susceptible than others. |
