Leaf burn or scorch

Leaf burn or scorch affects many trees and shrubs and are the result of abiotic disorders with a wide variety of causes including:

• frost
• inappropriate irrigation, poor drainage, or drought
• sunburn, excess light, or heat
• mineral deficiencies
• salt or boron toxicities
• wind
• injury

Leaves turn yellow or brown especially along margins and at the tip. They may curl, turn black and die or drop prematurely.
